Sea Shepherd is a “brand” from the portfolio of the German company Kirsch Whisky Gmbh.

The company has been operating since 1976, founded by Dieter Kirsch, and is a significant importer and distributor of whisky on the German market. Its offer includes Signatory and Edradour whiskies, Gordon & MacPhail, Ben Nevis, and a dozen or so Irish and American "brands". The Sea Shepherd brand was created in cooperation with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an organization dedicated to the protection of marine fauna, and is made up of Islay single malt whisky and gin. The latter, distilled in Germany, debuted in 2020. The limited edition of Sea Shepherd Blue Ocean presented here is inspired by the oceans that create the largest ecosystem on the planet. Its formula includes: juniper berries, oranges, lemons, raspberries, blackberries, thyme, lavender, rosemary, sandalwood, black pepper, cornflowers, and spirulina (a type of algae with a green-blue color). The gin is presented in a bottle bearing the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society logo, and 10% of proceeds from sales go to the Society.

Sea Shepherd Blue Ocean immediately catches the eye with its colour. In the aromatic bouquet, a combination of juniper, citrus, forest berries and fresh herbs; on the palate, more herbs and citrus "seasoned" with a pinch of salt. Like the ocean, this gin changes colour - after adding tonic, its blue takes on a shade of purple.
