Product description
Cross Keys gin, the first Latvian premium gin, was introduced in 2018.
The brand takes its name from crossed keys – an ancient symbol of urban hospitality and part of Riga’s heraldry. However the brand is owned by Luxembourg-based Amber Beverage Group it is produced by the Latvian oldest and largest producer of alcoholic beverages Latvijas Balzamas, with headquarters in the state capital, Riga (the company can trace its roots to the late 18th Century, the name “Latvijas Balzamas” has been adapted in 1970). The key ingredients of Cross Key gin are juniper berries, rosemary, chamomile and linden blossoms. Black Currant gin was added to the range in 2019, a signature Cross Keys gin enriched with black currant pearls. The gin is presented in clay bottle with a purplish label.
According to the producer all five key ingredients make significant contribution to Cross Keys Currant Gin:
Juniper brings essential taste of wilderness of the traditional gin;
Rosemary balances the taste, bringing together a whole variety of herbal flavors;
Chamomile enriches the taste with familiar bitter notes and soothing dry nectar;
Linden blossoms add the sweet taste of honey and its warming properties will recall sweet memories of last summer;
Black Currant pearls adorn the original gin with charming well-rounded mellow sweet flavors and delicate purple blush.
