Nikka Session /unpacked/ 43% / 0.7l
- Nikka Session, the first brand of Nikka whisky in six years, was launched in September 2020.
Product description
Nikka Session debuted in September 2020 and was the company’s first new “brand” in six years.
Its creator is Yuji Onagawa, the master blender of Nikka, and the idea of the project was to create a "malt fusion" of Japanese and Scottish, without assuming a specific aromatic and flavor profile. The Session formula lists Japanese single malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries and the Ben Nevis single malt from the Scottish Highlands (Nikka has owned Ben Nevis Distillery since 1989). Nikka Session is advertised as a "world blended malt" and is the first representative of this category in the company's offer, although it is common knowledge that Ben Nevis single malt ends up in many Nikka blends. The whisky is presented in an eye-catching blue bottle decorated with Japanese graphics, and the first edition consisted of 50,000 cases.
