The word Amrut translates from Sanskrit to “elixir of life” and is also the name of India’s first single malt.
It debuted on August 24, 2004 in Glasgow, and is now available on all continents. Since its debut, the aforementioned "elixir" has had an impressive number of editions, and has also won over 30 medals and awards. Amrut Distilleries Ltd. was founded in 1948 by Shri JN Radhakrishna Jagdale with the mission of supplying the Indian Ministry of Defense with alcoholic beverages. The company specializes in the production of blended whiskey, vodka, gin, brandy and rum, while malt whiskey accounts for only 5% of its turnover. Here we present a limited edition of Amrut Cask Strength aged in American oak barrels and bottled at 61.8% abv in 2022 as Batch # 121.
Aroma: barley malt, vanilla, cotton candy, oranges, pineapples, banana chips, notes of licorice and pine needles.
Palate : caramel, vanilla, orange peel, honeydew melon, sultanas, baked apples, salted peanuts, notes of cinnamon and lemon pepper.
Finish: quite long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, nougat, tropical fruits, cinnamon, cloves and charred oak.
