Product description
Nikka Distilling Company is the second largest producer of alcoholic beverages in Japan.
The company owns two distilleries in Japan (Yoichi and Miyagikyo) and one in Scotland, Ben Nevis. In 1963 Nikka purchased a couple of Coffey stills from Scotland and installed them in newly opened Nishinomiya Distillery. The first grain spirit came out from the still in October 1964. In 1999 Coffey stills and grain whisky production were moved to Miyagikyo Distillery. Nikka Tailored Premium Blended Whisky was launched in 2019 as a replacement for the discontinued Nikka 12 years old. The key components are certainly malts from Nikka’s Japanese Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries but Ben Nevis also has its share, while grain whisky comes from their own Coffey stills. Nikka Tailored is bottled without age statement at 43% abv.
