“Private Collection” is one of the most prestigious whisky lines from the Gordon & MacPhail portfolio.

Initially, it was single casks of whisky selected by the company's directors and bottled at cask strength, eventually also at reduced alcohol content, and finally small batch editions with unique finishes. The Ardmore presented here is one of the last stars of the "Private Collection". The whisky distilled in 1985 spent almost four decades in a refilled sherry hogshead cask no. 958; on December 29, 2021, its contents translated into just 166 bottles of cask strength whisky (49.6% abv). Colour: gold.

Aroma : Christmas spices combined with ripe berries and roasted hazelnuts; followed by lemon with a pinch of salt and a subtle hint of smoke.

Palate : rich, baked raisins, tangerine peel and cloves pave the way for grated apple and a pinch of black pepper.

Finish: long and full, sweet fruit wrapped in campfire smoke.
