Product description
“Artist” is a luxury whisky series from the portfolio of Parisian distributor La Maison du Whisky.
It debuted in 2011 and immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs with both its excellent selection and its unusual and thought-provoking presentation – each edition is adorned with a label depicting the work of a contemporary artist. The twelfth series was released in 2022 and featured Scottish single malts. The Bunnahabhain presented here, distilled in 1977, spent over four decades in a refill sherry butt cask no. 7602. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (47.2% abv) and the edition consisted of 546 bottles. The graphic design used the work entitled “Volo sul sup” by Hanover-born artist Gesine Arps.
Nose : surprisingly fresh, spring meadow, vanilla cream, acacia honey, lemons, grapefruits, honeysuckle flowers, mint leaf, a breath of salty breeze and a bit of peat smoke in the background.
Palate : rich, sea breeze and salt, licorice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, a touch of barley malt, cocoa, toasted oak and a trace of soot.
Finish : long, with notes of baked plantains, grilled pineapples, dark chocolate, chamomile tea, oak and peat smoke.
