“Artist” is a luxury whisky series from the portfolio of Parisian distributor La Maison du Whisky.

It debuted in 2011 and immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs with both its excellent selection and its unusual and thought-provoking presentation – each edition is decorated with a label depicting the work of a contemporary artist. The twelfth series was released in 2022 and included Scottish single malts. The Glenrothes presented here, distilled in 1995, spent over a quarter of a century in a sherry butt no. 6983. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (55.5% abv), and the edition consisted of 448 bottles. The graphic design used the work entitled Il giardino segreto della Giapponese (The Secret Garden of the Japanese) by Hanover-born artist Gesine Arps.

Nose: rich, dried dates and figs, raisins, orange zest, dark chocolate, raspberries, licorice, caramel, cinnamon, ginger, dried flower bouquet and sherry-soaked oak.

Taste: well-balanced, honey, chocolate truffles, coffee, apricots, peaches, blood oranges, roasted almonds, ginger, some tobacco and oak tannins.

Finish : quite long, with notes of raisins, orange peel, chocolate, licorice, candied ginger, tobacco and oak.
