Product description

Benriach The Sixteen whisky is matured in American bourbon, sherry and Virgin Oak barrels.

The distillate matured in each type of barrel is then blended under the supervision of Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie, in accordance with the highest standards of distillery knowledge and tradition.

The result is a uniquely complex single malt whisky with an incredibly rich flavour. Pronounced malt notes blend harmoniously with delicate stone fruit, creamy hazelnut and spicy spice, accentuating subtle accents of wild honey, delicate smoke and candied orange peel.

This single malt whisky is bottled at 43 percent alcohol by volume.

What does Benriach The Sixteen taste like?

Aroma : baked apples, nuts, notes of ginger, apricots and honey

Color:  brown

Taste:  stewed apples, stone fruit and mild oak, honey and candied fruit peel

Finish:  slightly smoky

How to taste Benriach The Sixteen?

The complex and rich taste of Benriach The Sixteen appeals to all the senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch – each of them can be used to make the tasting a full-scale experience. We recommend drinking this exceptional whisky in a so-called tulip glass. The shape, narrowing towards the top, will intensify and focus the aromas.

Whisky should be served at room temperature. You can also add a few drops of water or ice to it. It is worth trying different forms of tasting and choosing your favorite.

How is Benriach The Sixteen made?

The key elements are the appropriate selection of barrels, time, expert knowledge and passion based on the distillery's long tradition.

Bourbon, sherry and virgin American oak barrels bring out the most interesting aspects of whisky.

A minimum of sixteen years of maturation makes Benriach The Sixteen a multi-dimensional and complete whisky.

The history of the Benriach brand

Adventurer and entrepreneur John Duff founded the Benriach Distillery in 1898.

This distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland: in the north-east Morayshire region.

The Benriach philosophy is a creative approach to whisky distillation, barrel maturation and blending. At Benriach we distill three distinct styles of whisky, matured in different types of casks: classic unpeated, Highland peated and smoked, and small batch triple distilled whisky.

Benriach's complex flavour is due to its unique distillation method, which brings out the notes of orchard fruit in the whisky, the mineral-rich water, the tradition of making malt directly in the distillery, and the high-quality barley sourced from local farms.
