Product description
Mannochmore Distillery is an investment by the DCL concern from 1971, the result of a significant increase in the popularity of blends and the need to secure an appropriate amount of malt whisky for their composition.
Based in Speyside, south of Elgin, it shares a site with the nearly 100-year-old Glenlossie Distillery. After expanding in 2013, its capacity grew to around 6 million litres of distillate per year, the lion’s share of which goes into blends, mainly Johnnie Walker Red Label and Haig’s. The Mannochmore 12 year old on display here was distilled in September 2008 and aged in a refill hogshead (DL 14664). Bottled in March 2021 at 48.4% abv and unchill-filtered in Douglas Laing & Co.’s ‘Old Particular’ series, in a limited edition of 339 bottles.
