Product description
Glenrothes Distillery has been producing whisky since 1879. It is a large distillery, equipped with five pairs of stills, and can distill 5.6 million litres of alcohol per year.
Glenrothes single malt has never been a category leader, although it has its devoted fans and is considered a “top dressing” by blenders. Glenrothes is a component of several significant blends, most notably Famous Grouse and Cutty Sark. Independent publishers are also keen to include it in their offerings. The Glenrothes presented here, distilled in January 2013, spent over seven years in a DL 13900 puncheon sherry cask and was bottled in February 2020 by Douglas Laing & Co. in the “Provenance” series. The edition consisted of 428 bottles.
