Product description
In the original Classic Malts series, released in 1988 by United Distillers, the Lowlands region was represented by Glenkinchie 10 years old.
Distillers Edition debuted 10 years later and showed a "new dimension" of classics. The whiskies contained in it, after the basic maturation period, were "finished" in various types of casks, in the case of Glenkinchie these were Amontillado sherry casks. Until 2021, Distillers Edition was offered in vintage versions, a year later Diageo abandoned a similar practice. The edition presented here hit the market in 2022 and contains whisky aged in American oak casks and finished in Amontillado sherry seasoned casks. Glenkinchie is not one of the super-popular single malts, in 2020 it recorded sales of 200,000 bottles.
