Product description
2022 marks the 250th anniversary of Littlemill Distillery.
Until the end of the 20th century, the distillery was considered the oldest working Scottish distillery – it began distilling in 1772, ended in 1994, and 10 years later the remains of the buildings were destroyed by fire. The whisky presented here, distilled in 1976, was aged in traditional oak barrels, poured into two hogshead barrels (American oak) in 1996, and finally for the last six months it was placed in an Oloroso sherry cask. The drink is presented in a crystal decanter designed by the Glencairn studio, resting in an elegant oak box. The set also includes a 50ml sample of whisky, a book describing the history of Littlemill Distillery and a photograph on glass by Austrian artist Stefan Sappert. The edition consisted of 250 decanters. (Official tasting note.)
