Product description
For every whisky lover, Samaroli is synonymous with the highest quality and beauty. Silvano Samaroli began his career in the whisky market in 1968 and immediately focused on single cask editions.
In 2008, Samaroli left the management of the company in the hands of Antonio Bleve, but he himself played an active role until his death in February 2017. The Samaroli brand remains a market stalwart, highly prized by collectors, and the barrels are currently selected by Antonio Bleve and Francesco Saverio Binetti. The Talisker presented here is a personal selection by Master Samaroli from 1992. Distilled in 1978, aged in sherry casks, it was bottled at 46% abv by RW Duthie (owned by Wm Cadenhead Ltd) in an edition of 1572 bottles.
Aromas of pepper, dark chocolate, vanilla, medicinal peat, orange peel and English leather are slowly replaced by a full range of fruity aromas; these in turn give way to notes of hay, tobacco and sherry. The drink fills the mouth with a solid, warm and aromatic structure with a delicate tartness. Sweet and soft with traces of licorice. A whisky with an unusual personality and composition, which contrary to the accepted rule is equally pleasant to both the nose and the mouth; captivating and extremely expressive.
