Product description
Sestante Import was founded in the late 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi.
Initially, it was involved in importing whiskey, and it was not until 1985 that the first edition of Sestante single cask debuted. In 2000, Mainardi proposed another series of whiskey, Silver Seal, considered a continuation of Sestante. In 2010, the rights to the Sestante and Silver Seal lines were purchased by Massimo Righi, owner of Whisky Antique, who continues Mainardi's work. The new editions of Silver Seal and The Sestante Collecton are receiving excellent reviews, but the rare single cask whiskeys issued personally by Ernesto Mainardi remain rare. Such is the Mosstowie presented here, distilled in the late 1960s and bottled at cask strength (66% abv) in the mid-1980s. Mosstowie malt was produced in the years 1964-1981 at Miltonduff Distillery in a Lomond still.
