Product description
The Sexton brand was introduced in the US market in the fall of 2017 by Proximo Spirits, the company founded in 2007 by the Beckmann family of Mexico.
The Beckmanns also own José Cuervo and since 2014 Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland. We can take an educated guess that the whiskey comes from Bushmills, the company claims that it is triple distilled in traditional pot stills in the north coast of Ireland and aged for a minimum of four years in first, second and third fill ex-Oloroso sherry butts. The whiskey is presented in unique, solid black hexagonal decanter, which certainly catches eye of potential buyers. The name ‘Sexton’ comes from the Latin ‘Sacristanus’ meaning ‘custodian of sacred objects’.
Nose: very fruity and malty, prunes, dried apricots, candied lemon peel, caramel, toffee, walnuts and delicate vegetal note.
Palate: distinctive sherry notes, dried fruit, honey-roasted nuts, apricots, milk chocolate, toffee, hints of cinnamon and mint.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of sherry, dried fruit, mixed nuts and sweet cereals.
