Product description
The name Craigellachie translates from Gaelic to “rocky hill”.
The distillery began distilling in 1891 and its main task was to supply malt distillate for the White Horse blend, a creation of Peter Mackie, one of the owners of Craigellachie. Since 1998, the plant has been owned by Bacardi Ltd., which bought it from United Distillers along with the rights to Dewar's blends, whose formulas mention Craigellachie whisky. The Craigellachie presented here, distilled in April 2007, spent over 15 years in a sherry butt cask no. HL 19528. Bottled at 50% abv, natural color and without chill filtration in July 2022 by Hunter Laing & Co. in the popular Old Malt Cask series. The edition consisted of 753 bottles.
