Product description

Product description

Renowned distribution company Douglas Laing & Co. was owned by brothers Stewart and Fred Laing until 2013, but after 40 years of success the brothers decided to split the company assets and operate separately.

The Old Malt Cask range is now owned by Hunter Laing & Co., of which Stewart is chairman. Pulteney, distilled in September 2002, spent nearly two decades in a bourbon cask, HL 19525. Bottled in July 2022, unchill-filtered at 50% abv, in an edition of just 175 bottles. Pulteney Distillery is based in the northern Highlands and has a single pair of stills that can produce 1.8 million litres of spirit per year (currently operating at around 75% capacity).

Aroma: delicately marine, light salty breeze, caramel, vanilla, oranges, bananas, coconut milk, herbal pepper and toasted oak.

Palate: honey, vanilla, milk fudge, pralines, buttery croissant, candied citrus peel, apples, licorice, mixed fresh herbs, white pepper and oak.

Finish : quite long, malty and fruity, with notes of vanilla cream, herbs, orange peel and toasted oak.
