It is a small distillery, equipped with one pair of stills, it can produce 100,000 liters of distillate per year. While Mars Shinsu is the highest distillery in Japan, Tsunuki is located at sea level; there is quite high humidity and significant temperature fluctuations. Tsunuki single malt debuted in April 2020 with the Tsunuki the First edition, which numbered less than 10,000 bottles and was sold out in a flash. The 2022 edition presented here contains whisky aged mainly in bourbon barrels and bottled at 50% abv without chill filtration. This time, 35,800 bottles went on sale.
