Product description
With annual sales of over 2.8 million bottles (2021), Aberlour ranks ninth in the statistics of the most popular single malts.
The core of the basic offer has been the Aberlour Double Cask Matured series, offered in 12, 14, 16 and 18 year old versions. In recent years, sales of the brand have fallen slightly and Pernod Ricard, the owner of the distillery, announced a series of new editions. In February 2022, we received the Aberlour 18 year old Double Sherry Cask Finish Batch 001 presented here. Its composition uses distillates aged in American and European oak barrels, which after blending were finished in first-fill barrels of Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry.
Nose: rich, raisins and sultanas, orange jam, peaches, raspberries, toffee, milk chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, pipe tobacco and a trace of oak.
Taste: pleasantly balanced, chocolate-coated raisins, apricot jam, oranges, red berries, mocha, cinnamon, allspice, notes of tobacco and oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, berries, nutmeg and oak.
