Château du Breuil is a renowned Calvados producer based in Normandy.
The castle, built in the early 16th century, was adapted for the distillation of calvados in 1954, and in 2020 the owners joined the group of whisky producers. The first three editions of Le Breuil single malt - Origine, Oloroso Sherry Finish and Finition Tourbé (Islay Cask Finish - gained considerable popularity. In 2022, the commercial offer was expanded by blended malt whisky combined with the participation of single malt from Maison Boinaud based in the Cognac region. Duo de Malt Whisky Blend Tourbé is a smoky and peaty version of the aforementioned blended malt.
Aroma: peat smoke, barley malt, honey, vanilla, fresh almonds and hazelnuts, mocha, herbal mixture, mint leaf and oak shavings.
Palate : honeyed breakfast cereal, stewed apples and pears, vanilla, crème brûlée, almond butter, a pinch of cinnamon and peat smoke in the background.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, marzipan, summer fruits, a touch of spices and peat smoke in the background.
