Product description
Glenmorangie Distillery, a pioneer and leader in the field of whisky finishing, continues to experiment.
In addition to the "everyday" finishes, sherry (Lasanta), port (Quinta Ruban), or Sauternes (Nectar D'Òr), every year, thanks to the master Bill Lumsden, we are tempted by new versions of this excellent whisky. Here we present one of the master's latest creations - a whisky aged for eight years in American oak barrels and partially finished for another four years in Palo Cortado sherry barrels (Palo Cortado is a very elegant and rare sherry, combining elements of Amontillado and Oloroso sherry). This is the first edition of Glenmorangie finished in barrels of this type of sherry.
Nose: rich and elegant, honey, vanilla, toffee, mulled wine spice, chocolate truffles, orange peel, cinnamon buns, roasted walnuts and light oak notes.
Taste : slightly oily, milk chocolate, toffee, raisins, plums, bitter orange jam, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger and salted nuts.
Finish: long, with notes of roasted nuts and almonds, milk chocolate, mulled wine spice, a touch of leather and oak.
