Product description
Langley's Gin debuted in 2013 from Charter Brands, a company based in south-east England.
The gin is the result of a collaboration between Charter Brands owners Mark Dawkins and Mark Crump and WH Palmer Group, owners of Langley's Distillery. The contract distillery, based in Warley in the West Midlands, was founded in 1902 and has never used its own name as a brand before. There are currently three versions of Langley's gin – No. 8, Old Tom and First Chapter. The latter was launched in 2017 and is a nod to the Gin Act of 1742, which was drafted by botanists and distillers alike and is considered a milestone in the history of the drink. The gin is formulated using 10 botanicals, with juniper berries, coriander seed, lemon and orange peel, cassia bark and nutmeg leading the way. Bottled at 38% ABV, Langley's First Chapter combines the best traditions of English gin with the high standards of the 21st century consumer.
Langley's First Chapter is a smooth gin, with notes of juniper and pine needles balanced by citrus sweetness, a hint of coriander and a pinch of cinnamon. We recommend serving it with ice or a traditional Schweppes tonic and a slice of lime.
