Product description
Renowned distribution company Douglas Laing & Co. was owned by brothers Stewart and Fred Laing until 2013, but after 40 years of success the brothers decided to split the company assets and operate separately.
The Old Malt Cask range is now owned by Hunter Laing & Co., of which Stewart is chairman. The Inchgower shown here was distilled in February 1998 and spent 23 years in a refill hogshead cask, reference HL 18473. Bottled in May 2021, unchill-filtered, at 50% abv, in an edition of 144 bottles. Based in Speyside, the Inchgower Distillery has two pairs of stills and can produce 3.2 million litres of spirit per year. Almost all of this goes into Diageo’s blended portfolio.
Nose : vanilla pudding, caramel syrup, milk fudge, orange peel, nectarines, roasted peanuts, cappuccino, cinnamon and toasted oak.
Palate: honey cereal, brown sugar, vanilla, golden syrup, mocha, peaches, apples, gooseberries, white pepper, cinnamon and oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, caramel, summer fruits, allspice, pepper and oak.
