Product description
Duncan Taylor & Co. is primarily a producer of whiskies, often released in luxury series such as Rarest of the Rare, Rare Auld or Tantalus.
The company was founded in 1938 in Glasgow as a wholesaler of whiskey. In the 1960s, it became the property of Abe Rosenberg, an American importer of J&B whiskey. Since 2002, it has been owned by Euan Shand, who has expanded the range to include blended whiskeys, rums and gins. Indian Summer is an extraordinary gin. Its formula was developed by Euan Shand and includes: juniper berries, angelica, almonds, coriander seeds, licorice root, lemon peel, orris root, orange peel and a touch of saffron. The cask strength version presented here was finished in a sherry cask in which a single malt whiskey from Highland had previously matured (cask no. G803203). The spirit was bottled at 48.1% abv in February 2022.
Indian Sumer finished in a sherry barrel and bottled at cask strength is an "unrefutable proposition". The aromatic and flavor palette includes juniper berries, lemon and orange peel, vanilla, almonds, coriander, a bit of dried fruit, roasted malt and oak. We encourage tasting with a few drops of water and/or an ice cube.
