- Balmenach Distillery, founded by James MacGregor in 1824, is located in Speyside.
Product description
Based in Speyside, Balmenach Distillery has been producing whisky since 1824.
Its current production capacity is 2.8 million liters of alcohol per year, but finding a bottle of the local single malt can be quite difficult. The plant is owned by Inver House Distillers and almost all of its production disappears into blends from its portfolio. There is no official edition, and independent bottlers very rarely include Balmenach in their offers. The whisky presented here, distilled in December 2013, spent over eight years in a bourbon cask no. DL 15564. Bottled at 46% and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Provenance series in March 2022 in an edition of 350 bottles.
