Product description
The Dalmore Distillery is located in Alness, in the northern Highlands. It was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, Glasgow-based blended whisky producers, since 1960.
In 2014, Dalmore Distillery and all of Whyte & Mackay's assets were acquired by Emperador Inc., a well-known brandy producer based in the Philippines. The deal was worth £430 million. Dalmore is equipped with four pairs of stills and produces around 4 million liters of distillate per year, a large portion of which goes into Whyte & Mackay's blends. The brand's annual sales are around 1.2 million bottles. The new century has seen the launch of a number of super-premium editions, overseen by legendary blender Richard Paterson. In the creation of the 25-year-old presented here, he used bourbon, tawny port and Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks. (Master's tasting note.)
