Product description
Spearhead whisky debuted in summer 2021 from Loch Lomond Distillery.
It is distilled from 100% malted barley in a column still, which puts it in the single grain category, not single malt (a 2009 law requires that the latter be distilled only in traditional pot stills). Spearhead is aged in American oak barrels and finished in traditionally roasted barrels and so-called "infrared barrels". Loch Lomond is probably the most unique distillery in Scotland. It is equipped with both traditional pot stills and Lomond pot stills as well as column stills and produces basically every type of whisky.
