Product description
Wemyss Vintage Malts was founded in 2005 by William Wemyss, who owns vineyards in Australia and Provence, tea plantations in Kenya and Kingsbarns Distillery in the Lowlands.
The Wemyss family is one of the most distinguished families in the region, related to Lord Macduff, ruler of Fife. Wemyss Malts uses an unconventional marketing strategy, using names for their whisky editions that correspond to their aromatic and flavor profiles. The Bowmore presented here, described as a "Citrus Eruption", is a whisky distilled in 1992 and aged in a hogshead for almost a quarter of a century. Bottled at cask strength (54.4% abv) on November 3, 2016 in an edition of 250 bottles.
