Product description
The Connoisseurs Choice series is the brainchild of George Urquhart, a second-generation member of the family who owned Gordon & MacPhail and a great whisky visionary.
Since 1968, the series has featured nearly 100 distilleries, presenting nearly 2,000 editions in total. In 2018, the company redesigned Connoisseurs Choice to give it a more contemporary, elegant look, and also added cask strength and wood finishes. The Mortlach featured here, distilled in 1988, spent 33 years in a refilled hogshead cask no. 4594 (American oak), and was bottled at cask strength (53.8% abv) and without chill filtration as batch 22/002 in November 2021. The edition consisted of 213 bottles. (Producer's note.)
