McCarthy's is the first American single malt whiskey. Clear Creek Distillery was built in 1985 in Portland, Oregon by Steve McCarthy and initially produced fruity, primarily pear, eau-de-vie.
Ten years later, he began distilling single malt whiskey from the Islay Island.
