The history of Barceló rums begins in 1929, when 25-year-old Julián Barceló left his native Spain, came to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and founded Barceló & Co.
His ambition is to create the best rum in the world. Success does not come immediately, but after years of experimentation, Barceló Blanco and Dorado are introduced to the market, gaining international recognition. Today, Barceló rum is available in over 50 countries around the world, and the Dominican producer is the fourth largest exporter of rum in the world.
Barceló Imperial Rum is an anniversary edition of the award-winning, highly regarded Dominican spirit. In this case, we are dealing with a blend of distillates matured in American and French oak barrels of varying degrees of roasting for 12 years.
Nose: Caramel, crême brûlée, vanilla, raisins, dried cherries, citrus, oak.
Taste : Dried plums, raisins, nuts, ginger, tobacco, oak, spices.
Finish : Long, notes of licorice, tobacco and oak.
