Product description
In spring 2022, Balvenie Distillery introduced three new whisky “finishes” inspired by European wine regions.
While the 16 year old French Oak (finished in Pineau des Charentes casks) was released for general sale, the other two – the 15 year old Madeira Cask and the 18 year old Pedro Ximénez Cask – were exclusively distributed by Global Travel Retail. The oldest of the three presented here, after maturing in American oak casks, was finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry butts (Spanish oak). The Balvenie Distillery is based in Dufftown, Speyside, and has 11 stills that can produce 7 million litres of distillate per year. Sales of the brand exceeded 5 million bottles in 2020, making it the sixth most popular single malt whisky.
