Product description
Teerenpeli Distillery is an investment by Anssi Pyysing from 2002. The plant is located in the town of Lahti, in the building where the Pyysings ran a restaurant and was originally equipped with a pair of small stills.
In October 2015, a new distillery was built in the building of the family brewery, capable of producing over 100,000 liters of distillate per year, while the original one serves as a "distillation laboratory."
Teerenpeli distills from locally grown barley and uses ex-bourbon, sherry and port casks to mature the whisky. Teerenpeli 10 years old, the oldest version of this single malt, debuted in October 2015. It is currently a blend of ex-bourbon (85%) and ex-sherry (15%) casks, although the proportion of casks used in the first batches was 80/20. In 2022, this whisky was distinguished by the judges of the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
