Smokehead Whisky is a proposal of Ian Macleod Distillers from 2006. Ian Macleod Distillers was established in 1933 and is currently owned by the Russell family.
The company is the tenth largest producer of Scotch whisky with annual sales of around 15 million bottles. The latter is in the same league as Finlaggan, Peat Monster and Big Peat and effectively competes with them. Smokehead Sherry Cask Blast is aged in bourbon and sherry casks and finished in Oloroso sherry casks.
