Moon Import, a bottling company founded in 1980 by Pepi Mongiardino, is known primarily to whisky lovers as a distributor of excellent quality single malt Scotch whisky.
The rums bottled by the company are matured in oak barrels in warehouses in Scotland. The editions of spirits bottled by Moon Import have become famous not only for the highest quality of the distillates themselves, but also for their unusual, colorful labels, designed by Pepi Mongiardino himself.
Trinidad Rhum 1967 is a molasses based rum produced at the legendary Caroni distillery in Trinidad in 1967, distilled in a pot still. It was aged in oak barrels for 20 years and bottled in 1987 in Scotland.
Aroma : Oak, vanilla, soot, gum, dried fruit, spices.
Palate : Toasted oak, dried fruit, vanilla, smoke.
Finish : Medium long, notes of oak and vanilla.
