Dailuaine 8-year-old Premier Barrel Selection / 46%/ 0.7l

Premier Barrel Selection from the Douglas Laing & Co. portfolio is one of the most impressively packaged whisky lines.

It comes to market in slightly old-fashioned stoneware decanters, always accompanied by a short alliterative stanza referring to the specific whisky (Dabble and enjoy at this dandy of a delicious Dailuaine), which roughly translates to “the exquisite and delicious Dailuaine.” And then “enjoy a dose of excellent Dailuaine.” All the whiskies in the Premier Barrel series are bottled with natural color and without chill filtration. The Dailuaine 8 years old presented here is a single cask edition from early 2022, limited to 406 bottles (or rather, stoneware).

Aroma: barley malt, walnuts, toasted sesame seeds, milk fudge, lemon peel, dried herbs, notes of tobacco and oak.

Palate: sweet breakfast cereals, caramel, honey, roasted nuts, gooseberries, stewed apples, ginger, white pepper, notes of cinnamon and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of honey, toffee, roasted nuts, fruit tea, a touch of pepper and oak.
