Fred Laing’s Old Particular series debuted in September 2013, shortly after the division of the assets of Douglas Laing & Co. between the two Laing brothers.
It is the equivalent of the Old Malt Cask series, which is owned by the newly formed Hunter Laing & Co and chaired by Stewart. Old Particular comprises single malt and single grain whiskies bottled in single cask. The Auchroisk 12 year old presented here was distilled in September 2009 and aged in a refill hogshead cask no. DL 15223. Bottled in September 2021 at 48.4% abv and non-chill-filtered in a limited edition of 383 bottles, the whisky is part of a mini-series released under the slogan "Cheers to Better Days".
Nose: vanilla ice cream, butter cookies, caramel, pineapple, coconut flakes, oranges, notes of cinnamon and toasted oak.
Palate : milk fudge, vanilla, buttery croissant, peaches, candied citrus peel, coconut cream, cinnamon, traces of candied ginger and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, fruit candy, cinnamon buns and oak.
