Product description
In 2016, Brown-Forman Corporation acquired BenRiach Distillery Company, including the BenRiach, GlenDronach and GlenGlassaugh distilleries.
Brown-Forman has previously tried and failed to acquire John Dewar & Sons (1998) and Glenmorangie plc (2004), outbid in the former by Bacardi Ltd, and in the latter by Moët Hennessy. Since March 2017, the female blender of BenRiach Co. has been Rachel Barrie. So far, Barrie has followed in the footsteps of Billy Walker, offering a number of single casks. The BenRiach 1998 presented here was aged in a Marsala hogshead (no. 10298) for 22 years and bottled at cask strength (52.2% abv) in 2020 in an edition of 286 bottles. (Official tasting notes.)
