Springbank CV Campbeltown Single Malt / 46% / 0.7l
- Springbank C.V. was introduced in the late 1990s. The idea was to embrace a lifetime of Springbanks by vatting whiskies aged from 8 to 30 years and creating an “ultimate” Springbank.
Product description
Springbank CV debuted in the mid-1990s, a blend of spirits aged between eight and thirty years, intended to create the distillery’s most representative whisky.
After a few years, Springbank withdrew from the project, but in 2010 the CV concept returned in the form of the Campbeltown CV pack, a set of three 200ml bottles containing the distillery's single malts - Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn. This time, Springbank CV was made from spirits aged for 7, 10 and 14 years in bourbon, sherry and port casks. It is still unclear whether the CV abbreviation should be read as Curriculum Vitae or Chairman's Vatting. The bottle presented here dates from the late 20th century.
