La Maison du Whisky, because that's what we're talking about, offers short, limited editions of rums from Caribbean rum factories. These are often editions from a single barrel. Their common feature is the fact that they are matured twice - first in the tropical conditions of the place of production, after which the rum is brought to Europe for the final stage of maturation. Transcontinental Rum Line debuted in 2016.
Transcontinental Rum Line Jamaica HD 2012 is a rum from the Hampden Distillery in Jamaica. It is a traditional molasses-based rum, distilled in a copper still. It was matured in a single American bourbon oak barrel for 9 years, first for 3.2 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica, then for another 6.2 years in Europe. Bottled in 2022 in a limited edition of 250 bottles.
