Product description
The Chamarel rum factory is located in the southwestern part of the island of Mauritius.
In 1996, the Couacaud family purchased the Domaine l'Exil estate near Chamarel, where sugar cane has been grown for years on 220 hectares. However, it was not until 2008 that the decision was made to build a distillery and start producing rum. The distillery is equipped with both stills and column stills, and the entire production is based solely on cane grown on the estate's fields. The rum is made from fresh sugar cane juice.
Chamarel 2012 Highveld Aging Series Moscatel is part of the Highveld Aging series, which features rums matured at an altitude of 1,500 metres, on the Highveld plateau in South Africa.
