Product description
Tamnavulin, Gaelic for ‘mill on the hill’, is a young and modern distillery based in the Speyside region.
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd, since 1993 it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, which in 2014 was purchased by the Philippine Emperador Inc. Tamnavulin did not distill between 1995 and 2007, currently it operates at full steam, producing 4 million liters of distillate per year. The Tamnavulin presented here is an absolute rarity. The whisky was distilled in the first year of the distillery's operation and bottled after more than twenty years by the Italian company Moon Import in the "The Birds" series in an edition of 2,400 bottles. Moon Import whiskies were often labeled with the design of its founder, Pepi Mongiardino, inspired by old engravings from an 18th-century German encyclopedia.
