Product description
Cù Bòcan is lightly peated expression of Tomatin single malt distilled every winter in limited batches.
It was introduced in 2013 as permanent edition to the distillery product range. Its name derives from a legendary hellhound that has stalked residents of the village of Tomatin for Centuries. In 2019 the company introduced Cù Bòcan Creation range comprising whiskies aged in rather unusual and intriguing casks, such as imperial stout or Japanese shochu. In January 2022 Creation # 3 and # 4 were launched, with the latter being aged in ex-cognac and ex-Tawny port casks. The whisky was bottled un-chillfiltered at 46% abv with an outrun of 4200 bottles.
Nose: mildly smoky, plums, nectarines, cherries, vanilla, caramel, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, nutmeg, walnuts and oak.
Palate: milk chocolate, toffee, vanilla, coffee cake, pears, plums, apples, white pepper, roasted nuts and almonds and a wisp of smoke.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, peaches, pears, walnuts, ginger and distant whiff of smoke.
