Product description
Templeton is an Iowa rye whiskey brand registered by the son and grandson of Alphons Kerkhoff, a local Prohibition-era moonshiner.
Templeton Rye debuted in 2006 with the advertising slogan "Made in Iowa" although the whiskey actually came from the MGP distillery in Indiana. Accused of misleading consumers, the company was the defendant in three lawsuits that ended with a settlement and an obligation to compensate consumers for Templeton whiskey purchased. Subsequent editions included the statement on the counter-label "Distilled in Indiana". The 6-year-old straight rye whiskey presented here, distilled from a mash consisting of 95% rye and 5% barley malt, is bottled without added coloring and flavoring. In 2021, the company changed the presentation of the whiskey (new bottle shape and label design).
