Loch Lomond is a cross-sectional whisky brand, offering single malt, single grain and blended whiskies.
Based in Alexandria in the Southern Highlands, the distillery produces malt and grain whiskies and blends under one roof. The last change of ownership took place in 2019, when the Exponent capital group sold the assets of the Loch Lomond Distillery Company to Hillside Capital Management based in Hong Kong. The single cask edition presented here is a whisky distilled in 2011, aged in an American oak barrel and finished for 9 months in a fresh red Bordeaux barrel (no. 20/895-3). Bottled at 57.4% abv for the Polish importer and distributor of the brand, M&P, in the Cask Collecton Club series in an edition of 311 bottles.
Aroma: pleasantly fruity, red currants, strawberries, cherries, pineapples, orange peel, honey, cinnamon, notes of white pepper, hay and toasted oak
Palate: raisins and sultanas, red berries, salted caramel, vanilla, toffee, orange peel, cinnamon, white pepper, notes of ginger and oak tannins.
Finish : medium long, with notes of red berries, toffee, allspice, white pepper, a touch of vanilla and oak.
