Product description
The Glenfiddich Distillery requires no special introduction, built in 1886 by William Grant and equipped with second-hand distilling equipment from the Cardhu Distillery, it remains in the hands of the founding family to this day.
In 2020, Glenfiddich completed an expansion that increased the number of stills to 43 and, consequently, the production capacity to 21 million liters of distillate per year. Glenfiddich has led the single malt whisky sales statistics for years; in recent years, the brand's sales have fluctuated around 15 million bottles per year. Glenfiddich single malt is present in every price segment, the plant offers both inexpensive editions bottled without age specification, as well as strictly limited ones, containing old and rare whiskies.
The latter includes the Glenfiddich 1985 presented here, a whisky aged for 30 years in a single sherry cask (no. 2703) and bottled in 2015 at cask strength (50.7% abv) in the super prestigious Rare Collection series. The whiskies that make up this collection require the personal approval of master distiller Brian Kinsman. The edition consisted of 120 bottles.
