Product description
Dewar's is one of the most popular Scottish blends, and has been the number 1 Scotch whisky on the American market for years.
Recently, sales of the brand have fallen slightly (in 2020, it was 2.6 million cases), to which the owner responded by "rejuvenating" it and expanding the offer in the premium segment. Dewar's Japanese Smooth is the latest creation of blending master Stephanie Mcleod, and the fourth in a series of "finishes" of this blend. This 8-year-old whisky has spent the last half a year or so in Japanese Mizunara oak barrels. The Dewar's blend formula lists around 40 single malts, the key ones being Aberfeldy and Craigellachie.
Aroma: delicately floral, heather honey, sweet breakfast cereals, milk fudge, apples, pears, mirabelle plums, lemon pepper, notes of potpourri and sandalwood.
Palate: mild, peaches, pears, tangerines, milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee, honey cereal, a hint of spices and oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, citrus, cinnamon, pepper and oak.
