Product description
Tamnavulin, Gaelic for ‘the mill on the hill’, is a young and modern distillery based in the Speyside region.
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd, since 1993 it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay (acquired in 2014 by the Philippines' Emperador Inc). Tamnavulin did not distill between 1995 and 2007, but is currently operating at full steam, producing 4 million liters of distillate per year. The lion's share of production is used to blend Whyte & Mackay, although recently a few interesting single malt editions have hit the market. This is probably the Red Wine Cask Collection, consisting of whiskies aged in American oak barrels and finished in red wine barrels. The one presented here gained its beauty in German pinot noir barrels.
