Product description
Balmenach is a relatively little-known distillery based in Speyside, owned by Inver House Distillers since 1997.
The owners do not offer an official single malt edition, using the entire production to create blends. From 1925 to 1997, the distillery was owned by the DCL group (and its successor UD), and most of the whisky from there went into Johnnie Walker blends. The Balmenach presented here, distilled in September 2008, spent over 12 years in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 15258, and was bottled as part of Douglas Laing's Old Particular series in August 2021 in an edition of 372 bottles. Douglas Laing & Co. whiskies are always offered with natural color and without chill filtration.
Nose : mildly floral, spring meadow, barley malt, apples, pears, cashew nuts, vanilla, sponge cake, nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, summer fruits, roasted nuts, allspice and a slight bitterness of oak.
